Become a Creator

For most kids during quarantine, the largest issue that we're faced with is the neverending battle against boredom. It seems that the only way we can fill the time is through binge-watching Netflix shows, scrolling mindlessly through TikTok, and playing video games. All to often, we've been faced with the facts and reality of the COVID-19 situation, but instead of paying more attention to it and looking deeper into it, we decide to turn back to our screens instead. It's like we want to pull ourselves out of the screen addiction that has only intensified since quarantine started, but we'd have nothing else we want to do otherwise. What if, for a change, we could all pool our resources and time together to actually make a change and a difference in the situation that continues to affect our entire community? What if we took those hours we spent on Tiktok, Netflix, and video games and put it all towards becoming a beacon of hope in our communities?  Maybe some people don't realize it now, but if us kids put our minds to something, our combined efforts can do anything.

What do creators do?

As a creator, there are two categories you can work in to contribute to the organization's overall efforts in fundraising and spreading hope to our communities. The first is by making bracelets. One of the major ways we are fundraising is through the sale of homemade bracelets, all of which are produced by volunteers. If you already know how to make the bracelets we produce, or think you have a knack for arts and crafts and are willing to give it a try, you should inquire into this section of our mission. Some of the bracelets are relatively easy to make, so, don't worry, you don't have to be an artistic genius to help make them! Sometimes, you'll be asked to replicate the designs already available on the website (there will be a guide), though, at other times, you'll need to cater to the customer's personalized order. In addition to this, if you have any designs that you think would interest people, shoot us an email about it, and if we approve your design, it will be added to our catalog so that people can start ordering the bracelet! After every bracelet you make, send us a quick picture so we can make sure there are no defects.

The other way you can help out as a creator is by creating posters of support for both the doctors and patients alike. We've partnered up with Valley Hospital to participate in a program to spread hope by sending in posters or banners that will be hanged around the hospital. By doing so, we'd be creating a more joyful, hopeful environment within the hospital. In times like these, it's often the fall of the human spirit that can lead to serious, detrimental consequences, so by making these posters, we would be doing our part in the community to support the people who risk their lives for us every day. Valley Hospital has not specified how large the paper should be but did make clear that it should be either a poster or a banner, so try to use that as a reference as to what type of paper to buy. In addition, make sure to be appropriate, as all posters must be submitted to us before it is sent. If you can, make sure to take a picture of you with your poster of you working on your poster and send it to us! In addition, the pictures you send in will also be sent to Valley Hospital as they have said they would love to see all of our posters! Your posters will be featured in the "Gallery" section. Check out the posters others have already made:

The last way that you can help out is through answering emails of customers or dealing with other such issues through email. The reason this isn't part of the two main ways creators help is that we will hold a selection process as not a lot of people can be chosen for this job. More information will be given in the email following the submitted form.

If you have any interest at all in any of these activities, fill out the form below and we'll reach out to you as soon as possible to give you more details on how we run these operations. Filling out the form isn't a commitment, so if, after getting more details, you think this may not be the right thing for you, we understand, though we encourage you to help in other ways such as sharing our webpage or donating!

What responsibilities do creators have?

Creators will be responsible, as mentioned previously, for paying for the materials needed to complete their projects. In addition, our community is based greatly on trust, and as a creator, we will be trusting you to uphold our principles and to treat your position with respect and consideration. As for coordination, we ask for you to check your email often for updates on customer's orders, news concerning you, or notifications from Valley Hospital. We'll also meet twice a month, or once every two weeks to just quickly summarize our progress and status through a zoom call. Since our team is just going to become larger and larger, coordination is certainly of the utmost importance, and so there will certainly be a time commitment. Depending on what project you want to take up, the commitment will most likely vary. More details will be in the email after you submit the form.

Will I get recognition for being a creator?

Every creator on our team will be featured in the "Meet The Creators" tab with their name, age, and a slight description. In addition to this, we will have monthly recognitions of the most active person on our team, the one who has sold the most bracelets/created the most posters, and so on. We love every member of our team, so we love to give you all shout outs!

How can I become a creator?

To become a creator, just fill out the inquiry form below. We'll review your answers to the questions on the form, and then we'll send you an email back with more details on the certain parts of being a creator that you're interested in. As mentioned, filling out this form is not a binding contract, and if you decide you don't want to join the team after learning more about the details, then we fully understand.

We honestly appreciate any support at all you can provide us from sharing our webpage and fundraiser to donating to becoming a creator yourself. Thank you so much for taking an interest in our mission, and we hope that you'll join us!
