Meet Our creators

Our creators form a network of kids across New Jersey who all are working together to provide new hope for the heroes who inspire us daily. Like many during quarantine, I had too much time on my hands that I ultimately dedicated to trivial things such as Netflix, Tiktok, and lying on my floor. During these hours, the only real productive thing I did was think, and the more I thought, the more I circled back to the stories I started hearing more often on the news. I knew I had an obligation to do something to help, but my laziness outweighed what I knew I should be doing throughout the first month of quarantine. This is the exact expectation set towards many children. We're just expected to know nothing more than to allow laziness to consume any sense we have towards helping others. But, contrary to many common beliefs, these creators each have a heart of sympathy for the situation--one that is light enough to escape any weight of doubt and idleness that propel many of their age to just sit around and watch the situation unfold. Instead, they all have decided to use themselves as a vessel towards the greater good--as a beacon of hope.

(Enjoy my cheesy descriptions of our wonderful team :))

Haley Deng, 8th grade

I founded this initiative after realizing how much our healthcare workers were sacrificing to help our community every single day. With so much time on my hands during quarantine, I decided to do my part in this pandemic and bring hope and help to our healthcare heroes. I'm beyond thankful for my team because I know they've made a difference in this project I couldn't have done alone.

Zehra Taqvi, 8th grade

Zehra is extremely dedicated to making both string bracelets and taking care of all of the fiduciary aspects of the project from pricing the bracelets to calculating needed costs. She has been with the team since the very beginning and has never failed to contribute.

Cassie Li, 8th grade

Cassie volunteered to help out with creating the bracelets in the Originals section. Her craftsmanship and determination make her a valuable part of our team! If you want to check out her bracelets, all of them are labeled with the letter "H."

Kevin Lui, 8th grade

Kevin has supported Valley Hospital's healthcare workers through the creation of posters that are going to be hung to bring hope to our heroes. Always hardworking, he was the first to send in his poster, and his artwork is the first one in the Gallery.

Vya Pittala, 8th grade

Vya is always extremely eager to help and always is going far out of her way to help out the project in all ways. She has promoted and spread the word about Hero's Hope to many people and has recruited others as well!
